We use 3 types of clover in the Megabucks blend. Each is selected for a particular purpose relating to deer: attractiveness, nutritional value and their feeding behavior. Deer are very aggressive grazers so a deer clover blend must be able to resist being torn out by the roots, especially while being established. All clovers that we use are perennial, but individual plants eventually die out. Some of the flowers must escape being eaten to produce seeds to keep the plot producing.
Deer love it, it pulls them in, and it provides the protein-rich summer diet essential for large, heavy beamed trophy antler growth. This blend of 3 perennial varieties, each with its own special characteristics. It’s the best deer clover blend that you can buy. It comes in quick, develops well even under heavy grazing, lasts for years, and it isn’t coated to increase it’s weight – you get 40-50% more in each pound of Brown’s Megabucks Deer Clover Seed. It’s ready to plant – inoculated with nitrogen fixing bacteria for a fast start and heavy crop. This seed will tolerate some pretty tough conditions. It does well in almost any climate where agriculture is practiced. It is somewhat shade tolerant but the more sun it gets the faster it grows.
Seeding Rate:
Plant it in spring or fall at a rate of 6 lbs. per acre.
