The first 28 days new calves are on feed often determine profit or loss in the beef business.

Give your calves a nutritional edge from birth with Brown’s Cox-Guard or Grow-N-Glow as a creep feed. Use Brown’s Worm-All Pellets with Safeguard in your worming program.

Supplement forages with two lbs/head/day of a 13% starter mix:            

                 650 lbs Oats

                 700 lbs Ear corn

                 400 lbs Brown’s B-Booster B250

                 50 lbs Aureo S700 Crumbles

                 50 lbs XP Yeast

                 50 lbs Dry or Liquid Molasses

              2000 lb batch

As appetite grows, reduce Brown’s B-Booster B250 to 300 lbs and Aureo S700 Crumbles to 75 lbs, and increase feeding rate to 4 lbs/day.

Gradually introduce corn silage and/or higher quality hay into the ration. At the end of four weeks gradually shift to full feed on finishing ration.

Provide free choice salt and Brown’s Freemin. Worm as needed.
